Photography

How did Life start? Why do atoms combine in a way that creates Life in so many different forms? Such a mystery has no end. We may, some day perhaps, find an answer to the most basic questions Humanity has been asking for thousands of years. Nature’s beauty keeps me in awe.

Observing Nature is by far the topic that drives my photography work. Finding compositions that express my feelings and thoughts about Nature is a constant motivation and challenge. An expansive landscape, a bird feather with fine details, a crab spider patiently waiting for its prey, the constant changes of the sky or the details of the Sun… Exploration follows curiosity and never stops.

Photographing requires an openness to learning, there is no seeing what we do not know. Also, focus, patience, calm and access to locations are key elements to making good photographs. Although visiting “far-away” landscapes is always nice, it is the local places that can we get to learn about in depth.

Although spending time in Nature is key to my wellbeing, I also explore specific topics like the urban landscape, conservation questions.

Giving a hand is important. I volunteer to photograph youth events, with the local high school’s marching band and with sports teams.
